False Trevally / Parava Fish Curry
![]() |
| False Trevally or Parava in Malayalam |
Recently bought parava fish from GoFish which is located at Kumarapuram - Cosmopolitan Road. It was fresh as I cleaned inside out.
The flesh of this fish is soft so keep in low flame while cooking. It tastes well in both gravy - coconut curry, red curry ( meen pattechathu) and fish in coconut milk ( fish fried and then in coconut milk gravy). Once I tasted this fish in coconut milk and it was heavenly.
Karaleeyam stall visit
While strolling around the carpeted shed at Central Stadium, we stopped at one of the food booth to have samosa. It was fresh from the pan Loved it.
So, what else was there? Few other stalls, Ajwa biryani, and then a Govt run stall which was very obvious from the look of it.
One thing for sure, people are motivated to work when there's a direct order of the management. When someone is tracking, taking risk, investing, in-charge, then there's always a fire to work towards the goal.
This is what is missing in Govt run ventures - from KSRTC to KTDC. Same theory applies to the old USSR, when everyone was working for the government.
Coming back to the KTDC FOOD STALL
The stall was next to Paragon food stall. The fellows at this stall had similar oil fried munchies, but it was kept covered in steel container. As a fool that I'm, I told one guy who was manning the counter that the food is better kept over or visible. He looked at me dazzled, and bit irritated at my suggestion. Probably, he must have thought - Who the heck are you to tell me what to do? Get all your business, and fu*% off! Well, that was what I did.
So, next time you go for a food stall, make sure to keep your snacks and food in an respectable which is food safe, and also transparent so that people can see that the items for sale. If you need some idea for such stuff, you can visit Square one Homemade Treats shop near LIC to see the container they use to keep cakes, and other nadan palaharams.
